Transfer Station—Infrastructure Upgrade and Energy Plan
Blackouts and brownouts were disrupting service at a busy waste and recycling transfer facility. That’s how our relationship began with South San Francisco Scavenger / Blue Line Transfer. We made the infrastructure fixes they needed to stabilize daily operations, then partnered with them to take a look at their entire energy picture.
Here's how BASS Electric is helping Blue Line increase energy efficiency, decrease risk, and reduce their carbon footprint:
- Energy audit with full financial and technical analysis of potential energy solutions
- Proposed energy efficiency and solar renewable energy solutions
- Owners are making informed decisions about reducing their energy bill
As a trash collection and sorting agency, Blue Line has long been focused on recycling. With a plan for generation and a plan for conservation, Blue Line is reducing energy use to save money and further decrease its carbon footprint. With the installation of a 120kW photovoltaic array on the main transfer station, Blue Line will offset more than 25% of current facility electrical usage.
Our energy efficiency plan started with the most cost-effective solutions:
- Over 150 HID Metal Halide light fixtures replaced with instant starting, long lasting, high-efficiency T5 High Bay lighting fixtures.
- 46% decrease in lighting costs
- Employees have commented on the improved light quality
From a smelly situation to clean solar energy, Blue Line has increased their energy independence and added more green to their bottom line.

We partnered to create reliability now and a cost-effective plan for the future.
